MEDINFO’s system was thought-out entirely for data exchanges. Thanks to a communication and exchange configurator, administrators can add any new interfaces of their choice to complete the system. Exchanges defined using this configurator can be either mono-directional or bi-directional, and are based on standard formats to ensure smoother communication.
The configurator is used to define an unlimited number of exchanges, whilst managing their traceability at the same time.

Communication and exchange configurator
Thanks to the communication and exchange configurator, sample data imports – for instance pertaining to weighers and apheresis machines – can be intricately configured. The same goes for production data stemming from centrifuges and presses, as well as patient demographic data originating from the hospitals’ ID servers.
The system is able to process the exchange of laboratory test requests, as well the results of said tests. The communication configurator is compatible with management systems used by laboratories, analysers and analyser concentrators. Lastly, it can be used to define traceability data exchanges for labile blood products, monitored at every stage: product delivery, product receipt, transfusion confirmation and product return.

Standard formats
Exchanges are based on standard formats:
. HL7 standard.
. ASTM standard.
. HPRIM standard.
. AFNOR NF S 97-530, NF S 97-531, NF S 97-532 standards, and AFNOR XP S 97-536 and XP S 97-531 experimental standards for blood product traceability exchanges.
The exchange configurator boasts a simple structure, containing fixed-length recordings or zones marked off by separators. The list of available exchange formats may evolve according to needs and regulatory constraints.
